Mexico Flights: December Edition

airtran 300x225 Mexico Flights: December EditionWhile just a few years ago it seemed like airlines were cutting flights left and right, the demand for flights to and from Mexico is on the rise and carriers are paying attention.

Volaris began flights between Sacramento and Guadalajara last month, offering twice weekly non-stop service.  Air Tran, which had added flights out of John Wayne (Orange County, California) to Los Cabos and Mexico City, will add a second flight to Cabo in June 2013 to keep up with the high demand.

Aeromexico will commence daily flights between Laredo, Texas and Monterrey on December 14th.  This is a much anticipated route by both business and leisure travelers.

Allegiant Air, which is headquartered in Las Vegas, is currently looking into expanding its service to Mexico.  There are currently 10 cities under consideration and service would begin by the end of 2013 or beginning of 2014.  Part of Allegiant Air’s strategy is to fly to cities which have little or no existing service.
